Lost Gloves

Each solitary glove I encountered on my photographic journey tells a story of human presence, absence, and the ephemeral nature of everyday life. This project, "Lost Gloves," is a visual exploration of these orphaned objects, capturing their silent narratives and the poignancy of their displacement. The series began when I stumbled upon a single blue glove, placed almost ceremonially, on a stone plinth surrounded by vibrant green ivy leaves. The image of that lonely glove, so vividly out of place, sparked a curiosity in me about the lives we lead and also the things we leave behind.

Every glove, whether perched on a fence, lying on the pavement, or nestled in the grass, seemed to carry with it a history, a moment frozen in time, and a fragment of the person who once wore it. This project is also a meditation on the idea of the incomplete. A single glove, without its pair, invokes a sense of longing and loss, mirroring the human condition. We often grapple with feelings of being half of a whole, searching for connection and meaning in a world that can sometimes feel fragmented.
